Growing up in Jacksonville, NC... one has a strong attachment to the military... especially the USMC. I never tire of painting at the Lejeune Memorial Gardens... home of the Beirut Memorial. Here are a couple of plein air paintings I did there this week...

Tami, Olivia, and I were blessed to spend 22 days in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina this summer.  Summers off... Definitely one of the perks of being a teacher and being married to a teacher!
I painted 22 paintings (mostly on location en plein air) on our adventure... here are a few of them...

BTW... Most of these small studies are for $ on my Etsy Online Store.... Check it out HERE.

A Great Art Lineage!

I had the honor of studying  under John Ebersberger this summer giving his art students a direct artistic lineage to the "Father of Impressionism," Claude Monet.

Ebersberger was a student of Henry Hensche. Henshe's teacher was Charles Webster Hawthorne, founder of the Cape Cod School of Art. Chase  studied with William Merritt Chase. Chase was Monet's contemporary and considered the Father of American Impressionism.

How COOL is that!
